Context
Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to grow and expand into multiple sectors of healthcare. As this occurs, we find that organisations face intellectual property (IP) challenges that can influence how a firm can build and maintain its competitive advantage. This presentation explores how some organisations are leveraging AI in research and development of healthcare innovation and the IP challenges associated with AI-assisted inventions. We also explore some companies in this field, recent developments and the considerations organisations should take into account when protecting AI-assisted inventions, particularly in relation to inventorship and patentability.
